2022 Infiniti Q60 vs BMW 4 Series
Posted on December 2, 2021
When designed right, a luxury coupe is one of the best-looking vehicles on the road. And when configured correctly under the hood, it can also be one of the most exciting vehicles. The 2022 Infiniti Q60 and the BMW 4 Series are exceptional examples of what automobile manufacturers can do when they expand their brains and consider the possibilities.
Initial Affordability
The 2022 Infiniti Q60 is offered for sale in Ottawa and across Canada in three trim levels: Pure, Luxe, and Red Sport 400. Starting around $51,000, the Q60 offers everything drivers need and more of what they want.
Starting around $54,000, the BMW 4 Series is priced higher than the Infiniti and its parts are more specialized because of the German engineering that goes into every model. It is also harder to find a service centre or certified technician that works on BMWs compared to Infiniti vehicles.
Long-Term Affordability and Reliability
It is said that after the payment is done on a BMW, drivers can start just sending that money to the service centre, and that seems to be true for the 4 Series. The BMW gets lower reliability rankings than Infiniti over the long term.
As the luxury brand of Nissan, Infiniti shares many of the same parts and systems, making it easier to find service centres and technicians certified to work on the models. However, with below average chances of needing a significant repair, the Infiniti Q60 offers now only a lower initial price but better affordability over the long term.
Performance
The standard engine on the 2022 Infiniti Q60 is a twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 that delivers 300 horsepower on the Pure and Luxe models while designed to provide 400 horsepower in the Red Sport 400 model. The Q60 blows the BMW away in comparison. The BMW 4 Series Coupe is powered by a BMW TwinPower Turbo 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that delivers 255 horsepower.
Infotainment
Infiniti’s Q60 coupe features the Infiniti InTouch dual display system, providing drivers with an upper 8.0-inch and lower 7.0-inch WXGA touchscreen displays. The centre of the dashboard, it draws the driver’s attention and offers intuitive controls. Wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto connections are standard as well.
The 2022 BMW 4 Series Coupe comes standard with one display of 8.8-inches, but drivers can upgrade to an optional 10.3-inch display. All systems include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and in-dash navigation.
Interior
The cabin environment of the BMW 4 Series Coupe is not that much different than that of the brand’s 3 Series vehicles, and while sharp and clean, it does not offer anything spectacular for a luxury vehicle.
On the other hand, the Infiniti Q60 offers a cabin filled with attractive and high-quality materials that can be configured with additional desirable features to meet drivers’ needs. This includes heated front seats and steering wheel, power-adjustable steering wheel, and more.
2022 Infiniti Q60 vs 2022 BMW 4 Series in Ottawa
Drivers in Ottawa will be extremely happy with the 2022 Infiniti Q60. More powerful, more affordable, and more reliable vehicle than the BMW 4 Series, it is a fast and fun car that is ready to bring enjoyment back into the daily commute.
