2022 infiniti qx60 vs acura mdx

2022 infiniti qx60 vs acura mdx

The luxury SUV sector is heating up. Two 2022 launches gave consumers even more choice. The 2022 Infiniti QX60 from Nissan and Honda’s Acura MDX boast similar specs. The choice will come down to individual taste.

The 2022 Infiniti QX60 boasts three rows of seats, but that’s about all it has in common with its predecessors. The rest of the design has been updated to attract the attention of drivers who want that luxury SUV experience. Honda’s MDX has also undergone a design revamp to appeal to buyers in the increasingly competitive luxury SUV segment. So which one will take home the trophy as the best new entrant? Let’s take a closer look.

When it comes to power, the all-new Infiniti is no slouch. The tried-and-proven 295-hp V6 engine remains, but Nissan has reverted to the traditional nine-speed variable auto box, and it delivers smooth performance. An all-wheel drive is an option, but the standard QX60 will be a front-wheel drive. It can pull 6,000 pounds, an astonishing 1,000lbsmore than the preceding model.

The Honda MDX is similar. The 3.5-litre V6 provides 290 hp, paired with a 10-speed auto box. Like the QX60, it comes as a standard front-wheel drive. For those with deep pockets, the Type S will provide 355 hp from a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6.

The 2022 QX60 has that tried and proven three-row seating layout. The top-of-the-range Autograph model gets captain’s chairs in the rear, reducing seating capacity from seven to six. Interior materials are top-notch. The seats are heated and ventilated and offer eight-way power settings and massage functions. Dual-zone climate control is standard. Higher specs include tri-zone climate control.

Honda’s MDX provides French-stitched leather for the dashboard, with open-pore wood and metal providing an air of sophistication. Leather upholstery, heated seats, and dual-zone climate control are standard. Executive models include 16-way power-adjustable seats and massage functions.

The Infinity infotainment has received a comprehensive upgrade. The 12.3-inch touchscreen (a 10.8-inch heads-up display (HUD) is also available). It offers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Onboard Wi-Fi is standard. Drivers with deeper pockets can also enjoy a Bose 17-speaker sound system.

The MDX has a 12.3-inch touchscreen; Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. The wireless charger is a nice touch. The ELS Studio stereo system is included with the Technology trim. A-Spec and Advanced model drivers get the 16-speaker ELS Studio 3D experience.
